Watermains Minor Rehabilitation Framework

Mills Contracts have been involved in the investigation, design, planning, management, construction and commissioning of over 30,000m of water mains, ranging in size from 90mm to 315mm, in both urban and rural environments for Northern Ireland Water during this contract. In excess of 80% of these water mains were delivered utilising trenchless technologies, Directional Drilling and Pipe Bursting. The remainder used traditional open cut techniques.

  • Installation of control valves plus the associated chambers
  • Connections to the existing system
  • Cleaning, flushing other maintenance type operations by swabbing, pigging and air scouring
  • Civil engineering & Mechanical and electrical works associated with control valves; booster pumps; domestic and industrial meter installations; rationalisation of apparatus within service reservoir sites and other
  • NIW sites
  • Decommissioning of sections of existing water distribution mains, valving and control systems, pumping apparatus and associated structures, fittings and assemblies.
