Clogheravaddy Wind Farm Phase 3

The Contract was completed for ABO Wind Ireland Ltd. This project now completes the 25.2MW wind farm which is connection to the electrical grid at Binbane 110KV. The wind farm will generate enough electricity to power 24,800 households and to prevent the emission of 26,400 tonnes of CO2 annually. Each turbine has a capacity of 3.6 megawatts, a rotor diameter of 105 metres and a hub height of 74 metres

The works completed as part of the Design & Build Contract were as follows:-

    •  Construction of site compound
    • Provision of PSCS for the complete construction phase including turbine installation
    • Construction of CBoP for V105 3.6MW wind turbine foundation including steel fixing, concreting, access ramp construction, fencing and construction of foundation surround with concrete Lego blocks.
    • Construction of crane hardstand (excavation of bog to a depth of 4.5meters and dispose to tip)
    • Construction of roads and reprofiling of existing roads
    • Construction of blade fingers and teleporter access road to the blade fingers
    • Collector circuit ducting & cabling
    • Burrow pit onsite for site won stone which was tested and approved, this also was our deposition area for the bog material
    • Site drainage
    • Associated electrical works including cable supply & connection to the substation
    • Road widened works for turbine delivery
    • Environmental mitigation measures
    • Sign signage supply & installation
    • Resurfacing works at windfarm entrance
